Anna Sklyar was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine. She began her studies at a young age at the Kharkiv Choreographic School, under the tutelage of Tatyana Cherkasova. At that time, Anna caught the attention of the Honoured Artist of Ballet, Irina Surneva, who subsequently began to pass on her knowledge to Anna through private training after regular class time.
After graduation from the Kharkiv Choreographic School Anna became a finalist of an International Ballet Competition. At that time, Anna was accepted to the John Cranko Schule Staatliche Ballett-Akademie in Stuttgart, Germany. She joined the class of the distinguished teacher, Vera Potashkina. During her time at the ballet academy, Anna took part in performances and worked with world-renowned luminaries, such as Tadeusz Matacz, Jolinda Menendes, Carlos Dos Santos Jr., Ethan Stiefel, and others.
Currently, Anna shares her talent and experience with the Kiev City Ballet in Ukraine as a principal dancer of the theatre. She works with the People’s Artist of Ukraine, Tatyana Borovik. During the span of her career, Anna has already brought joy to the audience through dance on nearly every continent of the planet.
