Examiner of Royal Academy of Dance
Ms Sylvia Wu graduated from the Teachers' Training Course of The Royal Academy of Dancing, London in 1970 and was awarded " Solo Seal " shortly after. Upon her return to Hong Kong, she started her own school and worked for local TV stations as teacher and choreographer. She danced extensively both in Hong Kong and abroad taking principal roles in Giselle, Coppelia, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Firebird and Les Sylphides. In 1981 after dancing with the West German Dance Company, she joined City Contemporary Dance Company, Hong Kong where she later became ballet Mistress. Sylvia has been guest teacher for APA, the Singapore Dance Company, Guangdong Dance Company, The Hong Kong ballet, Hong Kong Dance Company and Dance Art. She was appointed a major examiner for the Royal Academy of Dancing in 1999. She now still serves as a Duel Examiner of the Royal Academy of Dance. She often coaches students for examinations and competitions, and acts as adjudicator in dance competitions.
