Vadim Pijicov

Mr. Vadim Pijicov is the co-Founder and Artistic Director of L’Etoile/The Russian Ballet Academy of Maryland, LLC.  He received his education at the world famous and prestigious Academy of Russian Ballet A. Vaganova in St. Petersburg, Russia.  After graduating, he enjoyed a spectacular career as a Principal Dancer with the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Republic of Moldova.  His repertoire included La Bayadere, The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Giselle, La Sylphide, Don Quixote, Paquita, Spartacus, Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker, and many others from classical and contemporary repertoire. Mr. Pijicov has toured around European countries with the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. Mr. Pijicov participated in the International Ballet Competition O. Danovsky, Constanza, Romania, where he received a special award for the Best Partner. Mr. Pijicov has been invited to work as a Principal Dancer at the prestigious Cozi/Shtefanescu Ballet Company of Regio-Emilia, Italy.

In 1997, Mr. Pijicov was invited to work as a soloist with Ballet Internationale Company of Indianapolis, Indiana, where he worked with famous ballet masters, such as Irina Kolpakova (Prima Ballerina of Mariinsky Theater and ballet mistress of ABT) and Vladilen Semenov (Principal Dancer and Teacher of Mariinsky Theater). He has toured in China and Taiwan with the Ballet Internationale.
Mr. Pijicov began his teaching career at the National Choreographic College of Ballet of Republic of Moldova and he has further expanded his pedagogic career by teaching at various schools, such as Baltimore School For The Arts, Kirov Academy of Ballet, Washington DC.  When Mr. Pijicov retired from being a professional ballet dancer, his primary focus has been entirely dedicated to pedagogy.  Mr. Pijicov truly possesses the necessary knowledge, education, professionalism, and experience to be titled the Ballet Master.   He currently works as a ballet master and co-Artistic Director at L’Etoile/The Russian Ballet Academy of Maryland as well as Kirov Academy of Ballet, Washington, DC.
